SPIED: Audi RS7 caught testing again — this time in snow

We’re all waiting with bated breath to see the upcoming second-gen Audi RS7. The first-gen car was such an incredible machine, with stunning looks and blistering performance. Sure, it wasn’t the sharpest of driver’s cars, as it was more of a straight-line bruiser, but it was astonishingly fast and could seat four adults. This next one, though, should be big time and it was just caught testing in the snow. (We don’t own the spy photos but see them here)

Seen doing some winter testing, the second-gen Audi RS7 looks like it’s shaping up to be even better looking than the first-gen car. Sure, it doesn’t look much different than the standard second-gen Audi A7, but that’s already better looking than the first-gen A7. So we’re expecting the same upgrade in looks for the new RS7.

We can tell that this is indeed an Audi RS7 and not just a standard A7 by its lower front splitter, lower ride height, black side mirrors and massive oval exhausts at the back. While it’s not too much different looking than the regular A7, it’s most certainly the big-daddy RS7.

What’s most exciting about the RS7, though, is what’s under the hood. Or at least what’s rumored to be under the hood. According to what we’ve heard so far, the new Audi RS7 will use a twin-turbo 4.0 liter V8 to make around 600 hp. However, we’ve also heard that Audi could offer a second powertrain, consisting of that same engine but with a hybrid electric boost, giving it a total power output of 700 hp. That’s a lot, if you didn’t already know.

If that’s the case, not only would the Audi RS7 be the first Audi RS car to offer two powertrains, if would be the most powerful Audi of all time. That sounds good.
